- Abstract
This article presents a study conducted at the University of Córdoba in Colombia to evaluate the relevance of the training provided in health science programs and to understand the opinion of graduates and employers regarding the requirements of the productive sector in relation to their professional profile. The study revealed that the majority of graduates are engaged in work activities related to health services and administration. The need to develop competencies in information systematization, promote administrative skills, and the use of specialized software is highlighted. Both employers and graduates expressed satisfaction with the performance and training of the graduates. The article also presents different studies conducted on the follow-up and impact of graduates from different academic programs in Colombia, as well as the importance of teacher updating and the need for complementary training for professionals. In addition, labor indicators are analyzed and the quality and relevance of undergraduate training and the development of general competencies are evaluated. The results show high levels of satisfaction and positive perception of job opportunities among graduates. The importance of general competencies such as ethical values and teamwork, as well as proficiency in foreign languages and entrepreneurial skills, is also highlighted. In general, it is concluded that the work activity of graduates is an indicator of the quality of academic programs.
