- Abstract
Intellectuals of the Turkic World, who had been raised with great sacrifices, were repressed and tortured during the rule of Stalin and they were mostly executed in 1938. Termination of the intellectuals made a huge impact on the interests of Turkish states in the USSR because these nationalist intellectuals worked for political, economic and cultural development of their people within the socialist ideology. Like other states in the USSR, Repressiya was applied to Soviet Socialist Republic of Kyrgyzstan. In order to eliminate the Kyrgyz intellectuals, the courts so-called troika composed of the First Secretary of Communist Party, the Director of Police Service and the Chief of Military Staff were formed and nominal trials were made according to the aims of the regime. With the decisions of these courts, nationalist intellectuals were executed with accusations of being Turkish nationalist, Turanist or Islamist.
