- Abstract
Atabey Cemaleddin Ferruh had built a hospital (Darüssifa) in 1235 in Cankırı, and a madrasah (Darülhadis - known today as Tas Mescit) adjacent to this from its north in 1242. The north wall of the Darüssifa is also the south wall of the Darülhadis. This case implies the idea that when the Darülhadis was built, the Darüssifa was out of use because of an unknown reason. In 1892 with the appointment of Mustafa Nuri Dede to the Mevlevihane of Cankırı it has opened and a house for the sheikh, semahane, stable and kitchen was built in the place of the Darüssifa, the Darülhadis was used a masjid just like before. The administration of the Mevlevihane had used the foundation incomes of the Darüşşifa and the Darülhadis but these incomes have been transferred to the treasury in 1916 after an investigation result showing that this Mevlevihane had no relation with these twofoundations. The history of Mawlawiyah in Cankırı is complicated. Even though there is a record in 1430 about the Mevlevihane of Kasim Bey of the Candaroglu, there exists no information about Mawlawiyah in the chater of wakfs of the two zaviye built by Kasım Bey. There isn't any relation determined to Kasim Bey about the Darüssifa and Darülhadis. No information dating earlier than 1892 about the relation between these two buildings and the Mevlevihane were found. The base walls of the octagonal semahane and wall bases of which we think belongs to the Darüssifa have been revealed with the excavation.
