- Abstract
The article discusses a study on the thoughts of community partners after half a year of developing the partnership as part of their involvement in the larger Community Child Health Network Study. Community-academic partnered participatory research (CPPR) emphasizes equal partnership for community and academic affiliates while creating capacity for partnered planning and implementation of research-informed programs. Community engagement refers to the values, strategies, and actions that support authentic partnerships. One of the characteristics of community-based participatory research that CPPR acknowledges is recognising community as a unit of identity.
