An essay is presented in which the essayist discusses the limit of humanity through his reading of "Molloy" and "The Unnamable" by Irish novelist Samuel Beckett. It mentions that at the limit of humanity, the individual inflicted with pain losses his human self and is where Backett asks the question what defines humanity. It further mentions that Beckett's work shows a fundamental relationship between human beings and language.
