- Abstract
The article discusses maintenance of certification (MOC) programs in the medical field. The authors argue for a continuous rather than episodic model for improvement and for a focus on processes and delivery of care rather than individual skills. Details on the manufacturing concept of continuous process improvement are presented. Other topics include the team-based nature of medicine and self-regulation in the medical field.
