- Authors
Rubin, Rita
- Abstract
The article discusses a study which showed a higher suicide rate among male and female physicians than among men and women in general. It references a research by E. S. Schernhammer and G. A. Colditz published in the "American Journal of Psychiatry." Topics discussed the lack of training among physicians in recognizing depression in their patients and in themselves and reluctance of physicians to seek care due to the stigma of mental illness and the fear of getting treatment.
