- Abstract
The article presents a case study of a laparoscopic resection of a schwannomas which resulted from Schwann cells in the ascending colon in a 53-year-old woman. It states she underwent a diagnostic colonoscopy which found a 1.5 centimeter submucosal mass and mentions a biopsy found the tissue was negative for clusters of differentiation. It comments during a laparoscopic hemicolectomy to remove the mass, a firm tumor was found with no enlarged lymph nodes or evidence of metastatic disease.
