- Abstract
To research the effect of ionic liquids structure on the properties, the ester group was introduced into the structure of 1, 2-dimethylimidazole. With 1,2-dimethylimidazole and chloroacetate as raw materials, two ionic liquids IL1 and IL2 comprising ester group were synthesized. The chemical structures of IL1 and IL2 were characterized by FTIR, ¹H NMR and elemental analysis. Electrical conductivity of IL1-H2O and IL2-H2O systems, the conductivity and thermal stability of IL1 and IL2 were analyzed. The results show that two ionic liquids have good ionic conductivity, at a range of concentration from 0.01 to 0.2 mol/L, the conductivities of IL1-H2O and IL2-H2O systems are enhanced with the increase of IL concentration. The conductivity behaviors of these two systems are obeyed Arrhenius type equation, and the empirical values of activation energy of ionic conductivity are obtained. The curves of cyclic voltammetry shows that the microgrowth of ester chain has a great influence on electrochemical windows. ionic liquid IL1 and IL2 have wide electrochemical windows, which are 2.66V and 3.14V respectively. TGA shows that IL2 with longer ester chain has great thermostability, because of the growth of ester chains facilitates the formation of intramolecular hydrogen bonds.
