- Abstract
The article discusses the legal aspects of transfers of personal information and data from the European Union (AEU) to the U.S. and other countries in the wake of the Court of Justice of the European Union's ruling in the case Schrems v. Data Protection Commissioner which deals with the EU privacy rights that were being violated by U.S. intelligence services. The EU's Data Protection Directive is examined, along with the European Commission and Safe Harbor provisions.
