Guidelines on the use of mobile phones in hospitals.
- Abstract
The article discusses the consequences of using mobile phones in hospitals. The Medicine and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) advice to switched off mobile phones near critical care or life support equipment and should be used only in designated areas. MHRA also notes that mobile ring tones may disturb or alarm patients who are resting and may alarm tones on medical equipment. However, despite concerns on the negative effect of mobile phones, they have still many benefits.
