- Abstract
The article discusses various programs designed to address the increased incidence of drug-resistant infection among the hospital population in Great Britain. The Saving Lives program is described as incorporating tools, techniques and the latest in best practices for all health care staff to embed good infection prevention and control across the clinical setting. The key benefits of reducing health-care associated infection are outlined, including reducing length of stay, improved clinical outcome, and defined roles and responsibilities for health care staff.
