In this article, the author comments on the effects of flood control on aquatic or riparian plant communities. He mentions several plants species including Agrostis curtisii, Poa chaixii and Leersia oryzoides. He states that approximately 68 species specialise in growing along rivers and also discusses the conservation of aquatic plant species.
