- Title
Aboveground Growth Response of Platanus orientalis to Porous Pavements.
- Authors
Morgenroth, Justin; Visser, Rien
- Abstract
The article discusses a study on the effects of porous and impervious pavement profile designs on tree height, diameter and aboveground biomass. The study was done at the city council nursery in Christchurch, New Zealand where the top meter of soil is fine sandy loan overlying a deposit of sand and gravel. It concludes that there are differences in tree growth resulting from differing pavement types and profile designs and that porous pavement could improve the aboveground growth of trees in relation to those grown in impervious pavement settings.
