- Abstract
The article discusses the expanded "Back to Sleep" guidelines. It mentions that the Back to Sleep campaign was started in 1994 educate parents, caregivers, and health care providers about sleeping positions of infants in order to curb the sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) rates. The recommendation were expanded in 2011 to address other causes of sleep-related deaths, including suffocation, asphyxia, and entrapment so as lower the risk of all sleep-related infant deaths.
