IN RE CELLCO PARTNERSHIP.
- Abstract
The article discusses a court case wherein Cellco Partnership Inc. has filed a motion for determination of license fees for its public performance of musical works as repertoire of American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP). ASCAP argued that Cellco is liable for performance licensing fees for the usage of its ringtones. Moreover, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York has ruled that Cellco was not required to pay any fees when its customers receive a call.
