- Abstract
The article details a study which investigated eight species of Lepidoptera associated with Miconia calvescens DC. (Myrtales: Melastomataceae) in Brazil. The study included the defoliators Salbia lotanalis, Druentia inscita, and Limacodidae species, among others. It found that Salbia lotanalis and Druentia inscita are most promising species for biological control of Miconia calvescens in terms of host specificity and damage caused to plants.
