- Abstract
The article discusses reports from national and international human rights and women's rights organizations showing that women in Afghanistan have experienced sexual violence. Topics discussed include the perpetrators of rape who used by be combatants, the concepts of honour and revenge as the main forces to put women at greater risk and the Law on the Eliminaton of Violence Against Woman approved by Afghan President Hamid Karzai which bans rape, forced prostitution and forced marriage.
