- Abstract
An essay is presented which explores the depiction of trauma in the short fictional works of Aboriginal Australian writer Alexis Wright. Topics discussed include the way the narratives of Wright present her viewpoints as an Indigenous Australian, the significance of the translation of her French short fiction collection "Le pacte du serpent arc-en-ciel," by Sylvie Kandé and Marc de Gouvenain, and the expressive storytelling processes observed in her short narratives.
