- Title
Choosing the Right Toys for Your Child.
- Abstract
The article offers ideas on buying or choosing toys for one's children. The author suggests it is important to read toy labels carefully because labels help one select toys that are age-appropriate and safe. Any toy that targets ages three to six is required to carry a warning if the toy contains small parts, small balls, marbles or a balloon. The author notes one should avoid toys with long cords or strings for young children because these may become entangled around a child's neck, which may result in strangulation. Furthermore, it is added that adult supervision is needed with electric toys and those with heating elements to avoid burns and electricity-related injuries. The author believes parents should limit video game and computer game use to less than one to two hours a day.
