- Abstract
The article examines how placebo characteristics can influence estimates of intervention effects in randomized controlled trials (RCT). Topics discussed include placebo control interventions in many forms, ranging from pills and injections to sham surgery; nocebo effects and randomized controlled trials (RCT) comparing treatment with acetylsalicylic acid and with sulfinpyrazone in patients with unstable angina.
