The author discusses an encounter with a teenage patient with autism who have been taking several psychotropic medications. Topics explored include the possible prescription of risperidone for the patient's repeated tantrums when he was young, the behavioral effect of medications for attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) on the patient, and the need for physicians to review medications of patients.
