The article examined several studies that evaluated diagnostic accuracy of ultrasound for pneumonia in children. Highlights include the lack of uniform reference standard in pneumonia research, the concordance between chest X-ray (CXR) and lung ultrasound, and the use of CXR as reference standard to be the primary source of attributable heterogeneity amongst the reviewed studies.
