- Abstract
This article, published in Chemistry of Natural Compounds, explores the chemical composition of compounds found in the rhizomes of Hedychium coronarium, a plant traditionally used for medicinal purposes. The study reveals that the plant contains bioactive compounds such as terpenoids, flavonoids, steroids, and simple aromatics. The researchers used extraction and purification techniques to isolate and characterize these compounds, providing detailed information about their chemical structures. Some of the identified compounds, including Kaempferol-3,7,4'-O-trimethylether and Pinocembrin, were discovered in H. coronarium for the first time. The research was conducted in Yunnan, China, with support from the Key Laboratory and Science and Technology Innovation Team of Higher Education.
