- Abstract
This article presents information on the progress made by the Committee on Research in Junior College Science of the National Association for Research in Science Teaching (NARST) under the leadership of W.C. van Deventer. The committee, which was established in 1947, had entrusted with the charge of making an investigation into the status of science courses at the junior-college level which were devoted to general education objectives. An informal inquiry was conducted in 1947 whose results were tabled at the meeting of the NARST in February 1948 in Atlantic City.
