- Abstract
The article discusses the role of Apicidin-resistant HA22T hepatocellular carcinoma cells in activation of the Wnt/β- catenin signaling pathway and matrix metalloproteinase-2 (MMP-2) expression to enhance cell metastatic effect. Topics discussed include β- catenin nuclear localization, cancer metastasis and breakdown of the extracellular matrix (ECM). It also discusses role of matrix metalloproteinases (MMP) in malignant progression.
