Von Leitern zu Halbleitern: Xia, Burns, Martinez et al. ist es gelungen, die Ringspannung von Ladderenen mit leiterähnlicher Struktur zu nutzen, um sowohl die Polymerisation der Ladderene als auch deren mechanochemisches Auftrennen zu erzielen, woraus halbleitende Polyacetylen‐basierte Blockcopolymere resultieren. Diese Materialien sind vielversprechend als funktionale Polymere für Anwendungen wie die Detektion physikalischer Spannung.
