- Abstract
A novel low-firing microwave dielectric ceramic BiCaVO was prepared using the solid-state reaction method. It could be well sintered at 900 °C with a relative density of 97.9 %. X-ray diffraction result showed that orthorhombic single phase with space group Cmc2 was obtained for all sintered BiCaVO ceramics. The sample sintered at 900 °C for 4 h exhibited a relative permittivity ( ε) of 11.9, a quality factor ( Q × f) of 23,175 GHz, and a temperature coefficient of resonant frequency ( τ) of −86.7 ppm/°C. The Q × f value was largely dependent on the packing fraction, as well as the relative density. Chemical compatibility experiment showed no reaction between BiCaVO ceramics and Ag electrodes.
