- Title
Outstanding Chapter Communications System Award.
- Abstract
This article presents excerpts from the exemplars submitted in connection with the Outstanding Chapter Communications System Award for 2005. This award recognizes chapters that show effective communication and promote the messages of the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN) in the chapter or the community. Based on a strategic planning session, board members of the Broward County Chapter used AACN resource materials from the chapter leader conference to plan activities that would provide members the opportunity to rise above. Palm Beach County was recognized as one of the pioneer AACN chapters in Florida in September 1973. It was founded by a group of critical care nurses following a unified purpose and vision. Board members of the Greater Reading Chapter of AACN made it a priority to promote a positive image of nursing in the community.
