- Title
A LOST MS. OF GEORGE HERBERT'S OCCASIONAL VERSE AND THE AUTHORSHIP OF `TO THE L. CHANCELLOR'.
- Authors
Dinshaw, Fram
- Abstract
The article focuses on the lost manuscript of George Herbert's occasional verse and the authorship of "To the L. Chancellor." It is not hard to understand why this should be the case. Albert Duport's collection is one of reasonably good authority. Duport was a member of a Cambridge circle which was connected with Herbert and interested in his literary remains. If these dedications are compared with the opening of Herbert's Musae Responsoriae as printed by Duport in 1662, they will be found as virtually identical.
