Information on the first meeting of the Society for the Advancement of Scandinavian Study, held from May 26-27, 1911, is presented. Topics discussed included the presence of Scandinavian studies in U.S. universities, the influence of Old Norse Paganism on modern Swedish Christmas customs, and English translations of Norse sagas.
