- Title
VERBAL PREDICTIVE ABILITY AND PERFORMANCE ON SELECTED SCIENCE PROCESS TASKS.
- Authors
Neie, Van E.
- Abstract
The article investigates the relationship between verbal ability and performance on selected science process task as measured by cloze procedure, a word deletion technique, in the U.S. The subjects used in the study were forty two prospective elementary school teachers enrolled in a Science Education Methods course at Florida State University. The findings confirmed a highly significant relationship between the two variables, but failed to show that verbal predictive ability is a significant better predictor of process task achievement than is a standardized test of verbal ability.
