- Abstract
The article presents a study indicating that a carefully planned and executed program utilizing film slides results in enhanced achievement in microbiology. Its general purposes are to develop a collection of visual aids corresponding to the objectives of an introductory and laboratory course in microbiology, which is the Bacteriology 350, at the University of Georgia. A comparison of student achievement in microbiology and in the understanding of science when instructed by conventional methods with student achievement is presented. Among the objectives of the present study are to acquaint students with a variety of microorganisms and to indicate to the students the activities of microbes which affect man both beneficially and deleteriously.
