- Abstract
The article presents information on the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry's (AAPD) policy on the third-party reimbursement of medical fees related to general anesthesia and sedation in the delivery of oral health treatments as of 2012, updating a policy revised in 2006. Topics include the cost of general anesthesia and sedation, law and legislation that requires some medical insurers to reimburse hospital charges related to dental care in operating rooms, and the quality of life of child patients following comprehensive dental treatment.
