- Abstract
The article presents a dossier on sustainability in Latin America, focusing on debates, analysis, and alternatives regarding the relationship between nature, society, and history. It highlights the global environmental crisis caused by the overexploitation of natural resources and the generation of toxic waste, which has led to a rupture in the metabolism between society and nature. It is also mentioned that both left-wing movements and bourgeois sectors have emerged with critical perspectives in the face of the environmental crisis. The dossier of the Journal of History of the University of Concepción presents six articles that explore the relationship between nature, society, and history in Latin America, addressing topics such as salmon farming in Chile, geographical imaginaries in Argentina, and identity construction in the Bay of Coronel. The general objective of the dossier is to contribute historical analysis to address the current environmental crisis.
