- Abstract
Objective: To develop a portable sleep information monitoring system for home use and to provide a method for patients with sleep disorder to objectively evaluate their sleep conditions at home. Methods: The portable sleep information monitoring system had its hardware composed of a data detection module, a data transmission module and a power supply module. A pulse wave detection chip and a three-axis accelerometer were deployed to realize the acquisition of the patient's pulse wave, blood oxygen saturation, heart rate and three-axis head movement signals. A mobile phone App was designed in the Android Studio development environment to control the start and stop of monitoring and to obtain the monitoring report. The system designed monitored the patient's sleep information through the calculation of heart rate and heart rate variability, abnormal breathing recognition algorithms and the perception of sleep positions. Results: The system monitored the heart rate, blood oxygen saturation, heart rate variability and sleep position to reflect the patient's sleep state and effectively identified patients with apnoea, which could be used for sleep disorder monitoring. Conclusion: The system designed gains advantages in wearing comfort, little interference to sleep and low cost, enables patients to complete sleep monitoring at home, and the data recorded can be used as a reference for doctors to make diagnoses, thus improving diagnostic efficiency.
