- Authors

- Abstract
The article reports that a panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals has ruled a lower-court injunction that forbade the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH) to approve any deliberate-release experiments is invalid. The injunction, granted to anti-genetic engineering activist Jeremy Rifkin, ordered the NIH's Recombinant DNA Advisory Committee (RCA) to prepare an environmental impact statement related to an agricultural study using genetically-modified bacteria, known as the Lindow experiment.
