- Abstract
To investigate the effect of MADS-box transcription factors regulated phosphatidylinositol signalling system on Volvariella volvacea fruiting body during storage, sensory evaluation and firmness and springiness were used to evaluate the quality of V. volvacea fruiting body stored at(15±1 ℃) for 0(control), 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 d, respectively. Samples stored for 0, 2 and 5 d were also subjected to transcriptome sequencing. The MADS-box transcription factor Vvrin1 and genes of the phosphatidylinositol signalling system, including calcium-regulated protein gene(Calm), phospholipase C gene(PLC) and protein kinase C gene(PKC), were determined for their relative expression levels. The results showed that V. volvacea fruiting bodies were susceptible to deterioration and decay, showing decrease in sensory quality, firmness and springiness during postharvest storage; the expression level of Vvrin1 was up-regulated during storage, while that of PLC, Calm and PKC were down-regulated. MADS-box transcription factors may down regulate the expression of Calm and PLC to control intracellular calcium concentration which then regulates the expression of PKC.
