- Abstract
The article discusses anthropologist Rémi Savard and the concept of structuralism. The author, a former student of Savard's anthropology classes, shares her thoughts on some of his work and involvement with the Indians of North America. Topics include the research project to prove that the Innu Indians use their territory for traditional activities such as hunting and fishing, the conflicts concerning the salmon rivers and their use, known as the bataille du saumon, and Savard's frustrations concerning Indian inequalities. Also discussed is his book "Canada, derrière l’épopée, les autochtones."
