- Abstract
The study consisted in evaluating the spraying syrup deposition on leaves and fruit, by the spectrophotometry method quantification, of the food coloring dye "Brilliant Blue" contained in the applied solution. For the statistical analysis purpose, the experiment was carried out according to a factorial schema of 2 x 4, with two conditions of the electrostatic device (on and off), and four different spraying syrup volumes (172, 196, 219 and 243 L ha-1), in a completely randomized design - CRD, with four replications. There was a significant interaction between the condition of the electrostatic device and the spraying syrup volume only on the deposition on leaves, and not on the deposition on fruit by none of the variation factors studied. The 219 L ha-1 spraying syrup volume with the electrostatic device turned on provided greater deposition of the coloring dye on leaves. Despite having generated important information to adjust spraying methods in papaya crops, the study is not conclusive regarding the combination that verifies the greatest potential of efficacy for the control.
