- Abstract
The article presents a review of the book "El español de Chile" by Manuel Alvar, which is part of a collection of linguistic atlases. The book shows linguistic phenomena at different levels (lexical, phonetic, morphological, syntactic) in Chile. Some variants of Chilean Spanish are highlighted, such as the use of "gasfiter" instead of "fontanero" or "plomero", and differences in pronunciation and verbal inflection are mentioned. The article emphasizes the importance of this work as a valuable resource for the study of linguistic variation and its relevance in the context of linguistic geography in Chile and the Hispanic world.
