- Abstract
The article discusses a study of the efficacy of a cost-effective walking assistive cane developed for visually impaired people in obstacle detection and location recognition. The device uses a radio frequency identification (RFID) system, a speaker, a recording module and an automatic lighting system. The participants in the study had gait abnormality or history of injury in the lower extremities. Also described is the user satisfaction with the functions of the walking assistive cane.
