- Abstract
The article examines the impact of appliances on equinox house, which only require one-third of its annual energy to maintain comfort traditions without people and their appliances in the U.S. It states that humans and their appliances are dominating energy requirements of high-performance homes. However, climate and the type of appliances are factors to determine the net effect on house energy requirements. Moreover, occupant behavior is also an important factor which varies between households.
