- Abstract
The main production cost of goat raising is feed fee. Due to the high dependence of domestic industry on imported forages, the cost of feed is high. The nutritional values of domestic grass can be improved through interplanting with legume crops. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to evaluate corn-soybean intercropping silage (SCS) and pangola-alfalfa intercropping hay (SPA) to feed meat goats. The trail used twelve 9 month-old Nubian castrated goats and does were assigned 3 treatments randomly with two replicates. The 3 treatments were BES, PAS and PCS. Feeding trial was conducted for 90 days and weighed every 30 days. Results showed that were no significant differences among the treatments for body weight gain of goat on 9 - 10 month-old both type goat. The BES in the highest (P < 0.05) weight gain on the 10 to 11 month-old both type goat but the BES group was about NT5 higher than other groups. In conclusion, the concentrate ratio can be increased at the age of 11 -12 months while PGAS and PSCS diet are used.
