- Abstract
One of the ways of inscribing subjectivity in the Latin American documentary is the I-me-myself-director subject position. This is why we analyze the body-camera as a way for women film directors to inscribe themselves both in relation to the apparatus and to the female others of the discourse. This subject position of identification and authority of the documental discourse appears in the two documentaries we analyze: Las lindas (Melisa Liebenthal, 206) and Sibila (Teresa Arredondo, 2012), which demonstrate the way the inscription of the I-me-myself (woman) film director influences both discourse and aesthetics.
