The article reports that the eurozone was about to collapse and German banks have Greek ones. It adds that from 2010, the incumbent governments and above all the leading media of both countries established the discursive framework for the collective guilt of all Greek women. It states that the strategy was used to justify radical cutbacks, a process of creating and sustaining shame and guilt and thus legitimizing punishment in the form of radical impoverishment.
