- Abstract
The article discusses the significance of digital documents to companies in the U.S. Previously, company's records are stored in file cabinets but with the emergence of technological innovations, these bulk of paper documents can be stored in the hard drives of computers. Several industries worldwide plan to implement a paperless transaction wherein they will eliminate the scanning of documents. In such scheme, vendors can already key in their invoices directly into the firm's accounts payable management system via a web portal and from there, data are routed in various processes and uploaded to the accounting system and downloaded to the bank for electronic payment. It is considered secure, efficient and expedient.
