- Abstract
This article presents a medical investigation report on cases of chromate ingestion in chronic chromate dermatitis in some chromate allergic patients and also in some nickel allergic patients. The aim of this investigation was to determine whether chronic chromate dermatitis is aggravated by ingestion of chromate. Of 72 patients who reacted positively to chromate when patch tested, 62 responded to a questionnaire which aimed to determine whether they had active dermatitis. Each patient was examined after the ingestion of chromate tablets and compared with other patients. The dermatitis of 11 of the 31 patients was aggravated following ingestion of chromate but not the placebo.
