- Authors

- Abstract
This article discusses the importance of palliative and end-of-life care for neonates. Palliative care aims to improve the quality of life for patients and their families facing life-threatening illnesses. Pain control is a crucial aspect of palliative care, and it is recommended to assess pain regularly. The first month of life has the highest risk of mortality, with 17 deaths per 1,000 live births globally in 2022. Despite the high mortality and morbidity rates, many neonatal nurses are not trained in end-of-life care, and there is a need for comprehensive protocols that respect cultural and religious issues.
