- Abstract
This meta-analysis explores the effectiveness of the dual-hormone artificial pancreas system (DH-APS) in preventing exercise-induced hypoglycemia in adults with type 1 diabetes. The analysis includes six randomized controlled trials with a total of 114 participants and compares DH-APS with other treatment methods. The results indicate that DH-APS may be successful in reducing the time spent with low glucose levels during and after exercise, as well as the overall number of hypoglycemia episodes. However, DH-APS does not significantly improve time in range or time above range during exercise. This suggests that DH-APS may be a beneficial option for adults with type 1 diabetes during physical activity.
